The Seventh Branch of Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul Rajkot at Taravada.

On the Birth Centenary of Shree Shastriji Maharaj, in an inspired moment it was announced at the great gathering that the Seventh Branch of Rajkot Gurukul will be instutated at Taravada and it received ground appliance with great cheer by the gathering.

Bhagavan Shree Swaminarayan has graciously fulfilled the wish of His devotees and the Stone laying ceremony foundation for the Taravada Gurukul was performed on the auspicious day of Labh Panchami the 20th November 2001.

Following the 100 hours of Dhun, the day started with the Mahapooja by the Senior Saints, followed by the pooja of the ‘Prasadibhut Shila’ – the auspicious stone and the sand, brought from the river Ghela. Later Brahmanishtha Pujyapad Shree Jogi Swamiji performed the Aarati.

The foundation stone was laid by the holy hands of Brahmanishtha Pujyapad Shree Jogi Swami and Mahant Swami Shree Devakrishnadasji Swami, while all the other senior Saints, along with Shree Navinbhai Dave and more than 5000 Haribhaktas from Bombay, Ahmedabad, Junagadh, Baroda, Rajkot, Surat and surrounding villages were in a mood of great joy and ecstasy.

On the same day the foundation stone was laid by the holy hands of Mahant Swami Shree Devakrishnadasji Swami, for the Dharmajivan Primary School and Dharmajivan Library which is dedicated to the village by the Gurukul.

His Holiness Shastriji Maharaj Shree Dharmajivandasji Swami was born in a small village called Taravada in Amreli district. On the centenary of his birthday at Taravada in the year 2001, by the blessings of Param Pujya Shree Jogi Swami and by the inspiration of Sadguru Swami Shri Devkrishnadasji and Shashtri Swami Madhavpriyadasji, it was decided to establish ‘Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul Sanskar-Kendra’, as a branch of Rajkot Gurukul at Taravada.
